The two were living proof that real love exists and that not even the greatest distance can separate two people who truly love each other.
Barbara Bush, the famous grandmother of America, was a simple and graceful woman. Unfortunately, she passed away on April 17, 2018, leaving a hole in the hearts of those who knew her.
Her health was already declining and she sensed that her time was near. Barbara refused to continue receiving medical treatment and died at her home in Houston, Texas, as reported by American Web Media.
Aside from her wonderful and inviting personality, the former First Lady was an amazing mother and a devoted wife. She and her husband,
George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, had a relationship that many people only happen to witness in the movies.
George served in the Navy during World War II, and he would often write letters to his beloved, who eagerly waited for his return.
He would tell her that he couldn't wait to go back home to be able to marry her, and he would sign the letters as 'Poppy.'Only a few weeks after George return to the U.S. from the South Pacific, he and Barbara tied the knot on January 6, 1945.
They were married for 73 years, which is the longest Presidential marriage ever registered.
Together they had six children: George W. Bush, the former President of the U.S, Pauline Bush, who died of leukemia when she was 3, 'Jeb' Bush, Marvin Bush and Dorothy Bush Koch.
Their children's relationships resulted in 14 grandchildren, who they loved to be with and have around the house. But George and Barbara didn't just live through their family.
They spent most of their time together. From the start of George's political career to their days at the family's ranch, they did it all. The couple even skydived, which is something hard to imagine due to their advanced age.
They loved each other very much, and proof of that is the fact that the former President is currently suffering from the famous Broken-Heart Syndrome, which has put a toll on his already fragile health.
