The Kill Bill director finally voiced out his thoughts on the accident that harmed actress Uma Thurman. He said it has been the biggest regret of his life.
Quentin Tarantino recalled the events of the car crash that badly harmed Thurman on the set of Kill Bill 15 years ago, as revealed by the Daily Mail.
Thurman recently shared the details of the stunt that gave her injuries in a New York Times article, wherein she accused the producer, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual misconduct. Ever since the release of the article, Tarantino has been criticized by the public.
In 2002, Thurman, 47, was doing a stunt for the film where she suffered an on-set crash that gave her a concussion and damaged knees.
The footage of the entire accident was shared by Thurman on her Instagram account where she crashed into a tree.
To clarify, Thurman said that Tarantino was the one who gave her the video of the incident. She also emphasized that the director was “deeply regretful and remains remorseful” over the whole thing.
Moreover, she said she fully blames Weinstein and allegedly accused him of lying and destroying evidence.
Tarantino, on the other hand, opened up to Deadline and confirmed that he gave the footage to Thurman to help her with the article for the New York Times.
“Uma and I had talked about it, for a long period of time, deciding how she was going to do it. She wanted clarity on what happened in that car crash, after all these years.”

He recalled the day Thurman was hurt and explained that nobody even considered it as a stunt in the first place because it was just a driving scene. Although, prior to filming the scene, Thurman voiced out her concerns over it so Tarantino personally drove down the road to test it out and claimed that it was safe for her to do it herself.
The director said it was heartbreaking for him and stated that it was one of the biggest regrets of his career and his life.
In addition, he confessed that the incident had affected his and Thurman’s relationship over the next couple of years, adding that a trust had been broken.
