Olivia Newton-John has confessed she doesn't have a clue how much longer she'll live as the chance of a remedy for her condition is so slim.

In a recent interview with 60 Minutes, Olivia, 70, shared the staggering news that she's battling breast cancer for the third time back in November.

"When you're given a cancer diagnosis or a scary illness diagnosis, you are suddenly given a possibility of a time limit," she said.

"If you believe the statistics, you're going to make them happen. If somebody tells you, 'you have six months to live', very possibly you will - because you believe that."

As she has put her endeavors into cancer research, Olivia decided it was better for her psychological wellness if her doctors didn't reveal to her how long she had left.

"I was terrified of starting it because I know it's a hard thing to ween off but I am now off it and I weened myself off it with cannabis."

To raise money for researching cannabis as a treatment for breast cancer, the four-time Grammy award winner is selling a portion of her prized assets.

Olivia, who has five number one songs on Billboard Hot 100, has been using cannabis to help treat her symptoms.

"When I broke my sacrum, I was on morphine because the pain was intense," she explained. "I was terrified of starting it because I know it's a hard thing to ween off but I am now off it and I weened myself off it with cannabis."

Olivia uncovered the breast cancer had spread to the base of her spine a year ago. The diagnosis comes five years after her second fight with cancer and two decades after she first overcame the illness in 1992.

Olivia has been an activist for environmental and animal rights issues. She has also been an advocate for health awareness.

The singer-songwriter is the mother of one daughter — Chloe Rose Lattanzi — with her first husband, actor Matt Lattanzi. In 2008, she tied the knot with John Easterling.
