Demi Moore, 56, Says She Was 'Chubby' and 'Negative' and Now She Feels 'Eccentric' and 'Happy'

In a publication by Instyle magazine, the actress offered insight into her life in Hollywood, and revealed details of her new memoir, "Inside Out."

There, she mentioned that her outlook on life had changed throughout her career to something more ecstatic. Demi Moore posed for Instyle magazine as the media-house marked its 25th anniversary.

And there, she wrote about her career and life in Hollywood which spanned four decades as well as the trials and lessons that came with it.

The mother of three wrote that she had developed a new gratitude for everything she passed through when she was at the peak of her career in Hollywood – a condition that came up as a result of her writing her memoir, 'Inside Out.'

As seen from the Instyle publication, Demi started her essay by reminiscing about her first time on the magazine's cover. This was as far back as 1994 and was titled "Demi's Victorian Secret." She wrote:

"My' secret' was our house in Sun Valley, Idaho (referring to where the photos were taken). That's what we call our dollhouse, even though it is just a regular historic home. That shoot did contain one-of-a-kind art dolls, though. I still have them."

She added that despite time has changed, she maintained her taste which is "classic with a twist," and went ahead to described following cover features for the magazine.

Then, Demi spoke working on her memoir, which she described as "a new experience. The actress disclosed that it was a "very intimate, challenging project," which made her recall beautiful and sad experiences from her past.

"I was recently going through thousands of photos, and, I mean, looking at the life I've lived, the things we've done, it's incredible, and I'm so appreciative –,"

the actress stated about writing her book.

Moore also wrote that the book had offered her a new sense of direction and described herself as a "caterpillar coming out of the cocoon."

She completed her essay with Instyle magazine with a hilarious statement which compared her 1994 feature cover with the recent one. The statement read:

"How I'd describe myself in three words: In 1994 – Chubby, Chubby, Chubby (But in all fairness, I had just had a baby.) Today – Quirky, Eccentric, Happy"

After having a very successful career which saw her earn the position of one of Hollywood's most sought after in the late 20th century, one would expect Demi to be a present screen favorite.

Overpayment Movies: "Striptease" and "G.I Jane" saw her receive cheques worth $12.5 million and $11 million respectively. And when the films didn't turn out successful as expected, Demi's career took a huge blow.

Media criticism:

Right from the start of her career, Demi had always been in a battle with the press over her public image.

From being regarded as a brat to news of excess luxuries, she wasn't exactly a media favorite, and this is believed to have had its effects on her life in Hollywood.

Relationship problem:

The actress had an ugly split from her much younger partner, Ashton Kutcher. And this is believed to have resulted in complications between her daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

This was a down moment for Demi, which may have affected her career. Demi's memoir, "Inside Out" is set to be released by September 24.
