Blake Shelton reveals that he is having a hard time wrapping his head on the fact that Adam Levine left "The Voice." However, the Country Singer was always aware of Adams intention to exit the show. The pair had a sizzling bromance on the reality competition for 16 seasons before Adam left.
The sizzling bromance between singer Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on "The Voice" came to an end when Adam revealed that he was leaving the show after 16 seasons.
Earlier in May, Blake announced on Twitter that he was having a hard time dealing with the fact that Adam Levine left the voice.
The Maroon 5 front liner was supposed to return as a coach for season 17 of the show, but the shocking revelation was brought to light on the Today show by Carson Daly on May 24, and that Gwen Stefani would be taking his place.
On a one-on-one chat with Entertainment Tonight, Blake hinted that he always knew that Adam would leave the show. He said:
"I think we all knew, on the inside of the show, that he was ready to make a move. For a guy like Adam, who is just -- he's the most ADD person I think I've met -- for him to have even done it as long as he did without wanting to move on to the next thing, is amazing. But I know he's happy with his decision."
Lucky for Blake, Adam's replacement is someone he genuinely clicks with, so things would be easier for him. He explained that although he wasn't so happy about Adam's decision to exit the show, replacing the singer with Gwen Stefani, would soften the blow.
However, his relationship with Stefani is different from the one he had with Levine and he explained that he "can't go head-to-head with Gwen like that."
As surprising as Adam's exit is for the coaches and fan, Ryan Tedder who has produced music for Levine, said that the Maroon 5 frontman has wanted to leave about four years ago. Tedder recounted:
“I initially got pitched four years ago on potentially replacing Adam on The Voice because he was just tired. He was like, ‘I think I’m going to step off for a minute.’ They called to see if I would do it.”
Ryan, while chatting with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" confessed that was approached by NBC to take over from Adam. However, before he could decide, they called him and pulled the "false alarm" on him.
Nevertheless, The One Republic frontman appeared on the fifth season of "The Voice" in November 2013 as the show's first-ever in-house producer and songwriter.
"The Voice" season 17 is set to premiere on NBC Monday, September 23.
