Steve Irwin’s Daughter Praises Her Parents’ ‘Everlasting’ Love on their 27th Wedding Anniversary

Conservationist Bindi Irwin took to social media to share an endearing 27th wedding anniversary message to her mother, Terri, and late father, Steve.

Bindi, 20, was just eight years old when her popular dad passed away after a stingray attack in the waters off Port Douglas in Far North Queensland in 2006.

"I don’t want Daddy’s passion to ever end. I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did."

The wildlife lover is the only daughter of Steve and Terri, who tied the knot on June 4, 1992.

Alongside a photo of her parents, Bindi wrote on Twitter:

"Happy Anniversary to my beautiful parents. Your love is everlasting and shines brighter each and every day."

Her post, which already amassed over 2,400 retweets and over 29,200 likes as of this writing, was amicably welcomed by her fans.

"Love them both. Your mom is such a strong woman and a role model to all. God Bless your family and all families that deal with the loss of a loved one," one follower wrote.

"I've always seen them as soulmates. Like they were absolutely meant to be together! I think your mom once said your dad was her "happily ever after"?? I just loved them together..." added another.

Someone else commented, "Love never dies. Never. Big hug Bindi. My kiddo lost her dad too. We understand. Big hug to your mom. She is your bright light in the world and the oceans of strength."

"LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT"

Steve and Terri initially met in 1991. Terri, an American naturalist from Eugene, Oregon, was visiting wildlife rehabilitation facilities in Australia and had chosen to visit the zoo at the time. The couple said that it was love at first sight.

"I thought there was no one like this anywhere in the world," Terri once shared. "He sounded like an environmental Tarzan, a larger-than-life superhero guy."

CONTINUING HIS LEGACY

Steve and Terri had two children - daughter Bindi, in July 1998, and son, Robert, in December 2003.

Steve, who achieved worldwide fame because of the television series "The Crocodile Hunter," died at the age of 44 after a stingray attacked him during the shooting of his latest documentary on September 4, 2006.

His daughter, Bindi, decided to continue her dad's legacy by promoting conservation via television.

In her eulogy at Steve's funeral, Bindi said:

"I don’t want Daddy’s passion to ever end. I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did."

Nine years after her father's tragic death, Bindi won the Mirror Ball trophy in the "Dancing with the Stars" finale.
