Olivia Newton-John Proved You Can Find Happiness at Any Age by Becoming a Bride at 60

Who says you can't find love at an older age? Olivia Newton-John had a secret wedding at 60. More than a decade later, it seems to be working out so well for her.

The talented actress and singer married John Easterling in 2008; according to her, he showed her a new world where she could be happy and sexy at the same time. Of course, Newton-John never knew this world existed before her husband came along.

Now 72, the "Grease" star is battling cancer after first being diagnosed with it in 1992 and then again in 2013. In 2017, she was told that it had metastasized and spread to her bones.

FEELING GOOD AT 72

However, despite the diagnosis, Newton-John recently admitted that she feels "good." She went on to mention her husband, Easterling, who has done everything to put her at ease and cope with pain, inflammation, sleep, and anxiety.

More than taking a lot of herbs, she also switched to a vegan diet thanks to her daughter who influenced her in trying it. The actress also makes sure to do something for herself everyday, such as sitting in her garden or tending to her horses.

FINDING NEW LOVE

A few years back, the mother of one talked about how she found love with her Amazon Herb Company CEO husband at a time when she wasn't looking for one. And just like a good movie, she found herself doubting it was all real. In the interview she had at her hotel room, the Grammy award winner said:

"These are my best times; I am enjoying wonderful freedom. I never thought I'd be saying this at my age, but I do feel happier and sexier than ever."

HER SURPRISING MARRIAGE

The couple got married in an intimate Incan spiritual ceremony in Cusco. No guests, just the two of them; the only person that knew was Newton-John's daughter, Chloe, from her first marriage to actor Matt Lattanzi.

Knowing someone for over 17 years without any inkling that it could be more than that, but one day you wake up and realize you want to spend the rest of your life with this person. That was what Newton-John sounded like explaining how they came to be a couple.

A DOTING WIFE

Over a decade later, she is still over the moon about her marriage to Easterling. She describes him as a "wonderful man" who has great knowledge about plant medicine. It hasn't helped just her, but also thousands of others in the country.

Despite her illness, Newton-John is particularly excited about 2021, as it's the year her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, walks down the aisle with her fiancé of 10 years, James Driskill. She claims she's happy to be doing all these things at 72.

BLESSED TO BE ALIVE

Newton-John even went on to reveal that she never imagined living this long, which is why she feels very blessed to be doing so many things. After all, stage 4 metastatic breast cancer is not something that goes away overnight.

Thanks to the support of her husband and her daughter, however, she's coping with the illness day by day. In fact, to support research into plant medicine for cancer, the actress and Easterling launched the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.

Now, the 72-year-old actress is making the most out of her life by focusing on what matters most to her: her family. As she's worked her whole life, now is the time she finally gets to enjoy the fruits of her labor with her husband and daughter.
