US Weekly: Lori Loughlin Was Sure She Was Doing Right by Bribing School to Help Her Daughters

Lori Loughlin has no regrets arranging for her daughters to be accepted by the University of Southern California.

On March 12, the 54-year-old actress was indicted for allegedly having a hand in the nationwide college admissions scam, as reported by US Weekly.

It was also reported that Lori’s fellow actress, Felicity Huffman, allegedly paid $15,000 in bribes so that her 18-year-old daughter can get a higher SAT score.

“Lori is a really great mom who is completely into her kids and family life,” an unnamed source was quoted as saying. “She lives and breathes for her husband and children. … Her intentions were pure.”

The "Full House" star and husband Mossimo Giannulli were arrested but released on a $1 million bond. The couple were accused of agreeing to pay bribes totaling $500,000 to have their daughters – Bella, 20, and Olivia Jade, 19, - designated as recruits to the USC crew team, although they did not participate in crew. This unlawful act facilitated their daughters’ admission to USC.

"NOT A HUGE DEAL"

Bella is an aspiring actress while Olivia is a YouTube influencer with more than a million followers. After the scandal broke out, the two decided not to return to USC.

US Weekly’s source added: “In [Lori’s] mind, the end result made everything she had to do worth it. And she really didn’t even see it as being a huge deal.”

"POSSIBILITY OF PRISON TIME"

It was also reported that Lori’s fellow actress, Felicity Huffman, allegedly paid $15,000 in bribes so that her 18-year-old daughter can get a higher SAT score. Lori and Felicity reportedly didn’t expect that their action would turn into a nationwide scandal.

The source said: “They haven’t fully grasped the extent of their alleged crimes or the possibility of prison time.”

Felicity is set to attend a court hearing in Boston on March 29, along with her husband, William H. Macy.

Lori recently spoke up on ‘Today’ show about her oldest daughter, who was also at the interview.

Speaking about her daughter leaving for college, she said: “I think I'm in complete denial. When I think about it too much, it will make me cry.”

She added: “She’s not going too far, but my husband keeps saying, ‘Lori you’re not going to see her, so just be prepared.’”
