Opinion poll Moghul Gallup has been conducting opinion polls since 1935, and the most popular of them all are their annual Most Admired Men and Women lists.
The result of the 2018 poll was an upset for Hillary Clinton, who fell from the #1 spot she has held for 17 years. She now shares the #3 slot with First Lady Melania Trump.
Michelle's popularity has undoubtedly been boosted by the publication of her memoirs "Becoming," in November 2018.
The former First Lady has been touring extensively, and her book outsold Hillary's "Living History" in the first week on the shelves by a wide margin to become the best-selling non-fiction book of 2018.
Malaia Yousafzai, 21, who is the youngest Nobel laureate in history, is also the youngest woman on the list by several decades.
For the first time in history, the top two spots on the list are occupied by African American women.

Also on the prestigious Top Ten list is the Queen of England. Queen Elizabeth, 92, has been voted into the top 10 for a record 50 years.
Americans voted for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, human rights activist Malala Yousafzai and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi.

Obama took #1 on the Most Admired Man list for the first time while he was still president-elect. He proceeded to clock in eight consecutive victories as president.
He has continued undisputed as #1 for the last two years, relegating current President Donald Trump to second place for a galling fourth year in a row.
In a related story, former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush were invited to deliver eulogies at Senator John McCain's funeral.
