Kevin Hart speaks out in the face of the controversy that broke out with regards to his son's party. The comedian broached the topic on his SiriusXM show "Straight from the Hart."

He shut down critics who called the event racist. Critics felt the Native American-inspired clothing was culturally inappropriate and offensive.

However, Kevin says the backlash is "dumb s**t." He goes on to say that it shows "how stupid our world is becoming with opinions."

He insists there was nothing malicious about the theme. Hart said the NFL's Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins played on national TV the same day.

According to Hart, the idea for the party came from movies and games that have been around for years. He continued to say he, like most kids, played "Cowboys and Indians" when he was growing up.

As a result, he disagrees with people who think the outfits perpetuated racial slurs. However, Hart's NFL defense raised more eyebrows since many people have raised issues with the Washington DC team's name.

The party controversy started on Thanksgiving. Kevin's wife, Eniko posted an Instagram picture from Kenzo's first birthday bash.

“Zos cowboys & Indians party was nothing but amazing! Thanks to everyone for coming. We love you guys!” she wrote.

Kenzo, their son, dressed as a cowboy. He wore a brown hat, dungarees, and a red bandana. However, the pic showed off many other partygoers dressed in traditional Native American garb.

Fans immediately reacted negatively and called it shameful and ignorant. Some urged the couple to "learn history" while others simply called them lazy for not thinking about who they might offend with their choices.

“As fellow aboriginal people, y’all should know why this 'theme' is wrong on so many levels. Sickening,” one person wrote in a comment.
