At least eight people lost their lives and several were injured in a shooting that took place at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The shooter, who has been identified as 48-year-old Robert Bowers, targeted the Tree of Life synagogue, and authorities claim that he was heard making anti-Jewish remarks during the incident.
As reported by CNN, three police officers were shot in the process but it is yet to be determined whether they are part of the currently registered casualties.

According to Jason Lando, Pittsburgh Police Cmdr., officers were dispatched to the scene of the crime this Saturday morning, October 27, 2018.
NOT SAFE TO GO OUTSIDE
"It is imperative that the neighbors in the community surrounding the Tree of Life synagogue stay in their houses and shelter in place. Do not come out of your home right now. It is not safe."
Cmdr. Jason Lando, CNN, October 27, 2018
It has been reported that the shooter surrendered to the authorities and that he was transported to the Mercy Hospital. Fred Rabner, a member of the synagogue, shared some insight regarding the terrifying incident.
THE VICTIMS' PERSPECTIVE
The visibly shaken victim claimed that the other members were calling out to their loved ones to make sure that they were alright and that the community is very 'close-knit.'
Michael Eisenberg, the immediate past president of the congregation, revealed that three congregations - Tree of Life, New Light and Dor Hadash - usually hold religious services at the same time.
THE PRESIDENT'S ADVICE
President Donald Trump reacted to the shooting by issuing a tweet advising people not to leave the safety their homes, hinting that he was closely watching the situation unfold.
Recently, three people lost their lives after a shooting took place in Baltimore County. Rite Aid workers were left traumatized after Snochia Moseley, a co-worker, opened fire.
Moseley also wounded three other people before turning the gun on herself and ending her life. So far, authorities are yet to discover the reason behind the woman's actions, although she was seen arguing with someone before the incident.
